A few of my favorite photos from Queen's Plate weekend at Woodbine. . I really had no idea what to expect, other than anyone who had been before told me I was going to love it. Not going to lie, I totally geeked out with the procession, pomp and circumstance with the mounted police and Lieutenant Governor. Another interesting point about Woodbine, is the multiple track surfaces. The inner most track is for harness racing(soon to be changed to turf), then a tapeta(all weather), and the turf track is closest to the stands. This is the largest track I have ever seen in person. They also have a training track in the barn area. Since Churchill Downs is my home track and Keeneland is just down the road I am accustomed to race track fashion. Queen's Plate is all about fashion and fascinators. I really enjoyed walking through the crowds and checking out everyone's outfits. It was nice to travel to another country and enjoy their big day of racing and see so many passionate people. I highly recommend visiting Woodbine if you are ever in the Toronto area. All photos taken with Cannon 70D, 70-200mm f/2.8 lens
